Hey, Ch00f here! Welcome to the xkcd could be better message board. Here are a few notes on how the message board works.
Every time Randall posts a comic, I will remove the dialogue from the comic and post it in a new thread as soon as I can. Then, you guys are free to manipulate the images as much as you like and post them as replies. The threads are also open for general dialogue, but spammers will be dealt with accordingly.
Tips for modifying images:
This site allows you to post anonymously, but if you choose to create an account, head over to your profile page (link at top) and you can choose your avatar and display name (fun stuff!).
That's about all I have to say. Happy improving!

Tips for modifying images:
- If you haven't already, download the xkcd font, "Humor-Sans" from www.antiyawn.com/uploads/Humor-Sans.ttf. It's a true-type font which should install into whatever operating system you're using. The font looks pretty convincing if you keep the font sizes down to xkcd-style sizes. Randall always writes in ALL CAPS, so there really isn't a point of having a lower-case. Because of this, the lowercase letters are just the uppercase letters sampled from different comics. If you write in CaMeL caps, you'll get a more varied sampling of letter styles and make it just a little bit more convincing. Also, try typing £,¢,€, and ± for fun results!
- When you have your image doctored up, you will have to find a place to stick it online. There are several services that allow you to do this such as flickr, photobucket, and tinypic. Any one will do. Once you have the picture online, use the

tag to attach it to your thread post (you can also just type in the URL of the image, hi-light it, and click the image button under "Add tags" on the posting window. - Unfortunately, the proboards markup language does not allow for alt-texts, so if you want to include one, write it like this:
Alt Text Here
This will write the text in white like this: Hai! and make it invisible unless your reader hi-lights it. Not quite the same thing, but the same overall effect.
