donzabu: you nailed it. we read, thinking "what? what? what's going on? why are they being chased out of a tgi's?" then *BAM*: the punchline! jokes never really need to make sense until the end. jokes are better when there are gaps to fill in. filling them in is satisfying and what leads to a laughing and enjoyment. the "oh, I get it!" moment is when all the gaps have been filled in. randall's problem is that either the gaps are too big, too small, or completely filled by the comic itself. /digression
